I think using a credit card is one of the ways ebay lets the winner pay for an auction lot. However, the seller has to be able to take the card himself. I don't believe there's any way to use PayPal as an intermediary to pay for an auction lot if the buyer doesn't have a PayPal account; however, I've never tried it as I have a PayPal account.

PayPal makes a number of commitments to a buyer if PayPal is involved in the payment, like guaranteeing a buyer's payment back if he is dissatisfied. I don't think they would agree to this if they don't have the buyer's bank account info or a PayPal account doesn't exist. Again, I've never had a buyer try this so don't have personal knowledge of it. I don't have the ability to take a credit card payment myself.
