Using your hypothetical, if A.C. doubled the number of casinos in town, that would be good for competition? I don't think so! The gaming business is simply not there to support a dozen casinos.

Regarding MGM; according to news accounts I have been reading in the local papers, MGM is paying $225,000 to be re-licensed, not to purchase Revel or another property, but to retain their 50% ownership stake in Borgata. When MGM gave up its NJ license, the company also agreed to sell its half-ownership in Borgata. The other half is owned by Boyd Gaming Corp. However, the sale of MGM ownership never materialized and its 50% stake was put into a trust, pending the completion of the MGM licensing case.
