Last Saturday I was wandering around the strip and happened to roam through Bally's for the first time in about six months.

I noticed in the gift shop that they have a whole new line of T-shirts with a new ad campaign reading Bally's Casino Established 1979, etc.

This seemed odd to me because every chip related info base I've ever seen shows Bally's starting in 1986- I mean, the famous MGM Grand fire wasn't until November of 1980!! I asked the workers about it and they seemed as clueless as I had expected.

They suggested that Bally's had possibly taken over casino operations in 1979, but I found that highly unlikely since I think MGM knows how to run a casino.

Any info??
