Cindy wanted to visit her mother in Milwaukee so we set out last week for the long trip to Cheeseland. Since we planned this several months ago I decided to go when I could see something interesting. The slot machine show wasn't until November but the big coin show was last week. On the way up we stopped on Tuesday when the show opened. We had a brief meeting with Mark Lighterman and Brenda and Archie Black. The Blacks had nice exhibits set up at the show. We didn't have a lot of time to talk since I realized quickly that it was going to take hours and hours to get thru the 500+ dealers. I was a little disappointed that I did not see any ivory chips(one guy had a few but they were very plain and worn to heck) or large plaques at the whole show. These are the chips I managed to find at the show. There was one chip dealer at the show (sorry but I can't remember his name now) and I did buy most of the chips from him. I really liked the Escambron and Dorado Hilton chips and am very glad I didn't have to pay anywhere near the $40-50 each that he originally wanted.
In Milwaukee I managed to buy the poker chip and about 1 1/4 ounces of sterling at yard sales. I also got 4 silver strikes at a coin store for silver value and I needed three for the collection. Not a bad week.
