This is what I did with my little bit of slot glass.
I built a 4" deep oak box and set the glass pieces into frames on the front.

When you look through the clear parts where the reels would be you see enlarged scans of a couple of old postcards showing gambling scenes. I put a rope LED inside so it lights from the inside. It was actually pretty simple although this photo doesn't show the depth very well. It also works great as a night light.
