Haven't a clue on the comics, but when we've had musty/moldy smelling phone books I've put them in a garbage bag with an open box of baking soda and closed it up with a twist-tie. One phone book per bag, opened up to expose the pages better. One (that wasn't too bad) took a few weeks to smell better. Another, bought unsniffed on ebay, took several months...but the smell did eventually go away (I hate the smell, and probably wouldn't have bought it if I had smelled it first). If the baking soda hadn't worked, I was planning to try kitty litter...
