There are two basic chip variations:
N1637 has a large ¢, as on those you show. There are .L and .S sub categories for long and small cane in the mold.
V2554 has a smaller ¢, about half the size as on the chip you show. Also has .L and .S subcategories.
It would appear the V2553 in The Chip Guide is wrong. Could have been an old catalog number for one of the H&C varieties. When TCR changes codes, The Chip Guide usually doesn't get the update until someone emails an administrator. Also possible that a code was given out informally in advance while never being actually printed in TCR. I wish they wouldn't do that.
BTW, there are illustrations of the differences in the ¢ on page C-6 in the back section of TCR, 15th edition.
