about the rarity of the chip...maybe it was Hotchkiss
The link that Weston provided had the chip listed on June 9 (as "vintage"), with an opening bid of $12.99. There were 6 different bidders who bid from $13 - $200. On June 11 the seller cancelled all of the bids, then cancelled the auction saying "This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing."
On June 15 the same seller listed the chip again (as "ultra rare"), for a 10-day auction, with an opening bid of $14,000...There was 1 bid approximately 30 seconds before the auction ended, and that bid won the auction. It doesn't appear to be one of the six bidders who bid on the initial auction.
It sure is a beautiful chip!
