This will be my third convention and I really loved the first two.
One thing I wondered about was making connections with people. The SouthPoint is HUGE. Even though we have the Splashbar etc. it's easy to miss folks. I also heard a lot of people who missed out on things just because they weren't in the right place at the right time.
There are also all the new attendees who don't know many people and may want to go to some other places around Las Vegas or are looking for suggestions of things to see.
Some folks may not have a car. Or you may have a car and would be happy to meet some fellow chippers and include them in an outing.
So. Here's the experiment.
I set up a Facebook page for my little website. It's public and you can “Like” it and post your plans or what you'd like to do etc.
If you're planning some excursion and have an extra place in your car, let folks know the time and destination and where you'd like to meet up. (Like one of the SouthPoint Bars) Set your Facebook preferences so you get notified of posts and it should all happen in real time.
I have posted some things on the FB site that I would like to do and if you'd like to join in just post your interest in the comments section and we'll decide on a convenient time and a place to meet.
If there's a place you'd like to go and you would like to invite some fellow chippers then post that.
DON'T post your phone number or your e-mail address on the site or in the comments.
It's a public site. Use the Facebook “Message” section to reply to or contact people who have posted.
So here's our chance to prove that organizing a bunch of chippers is NOT like herding cats!
(I hear laughter and doubt out there... stop it!)
Newbies, here's your chance to meet up with some new folks.
Go to this link and hit "LIKE". It's not that hard.

Last note: Just because I set this up feel free to put together whatever you want.
I don't need to be included in every group. I don't even want to be. If this works (probably won't but I have to try...) there should be a lot folks going to different places.
