Yes, you do need to ask questions and as far as my experiences with this group everyone will help out if they can. Or they will try to point you in the right direction. Myself I was lucky enough to meet up with Smitty and Reggie. Those two guys helped me so much in my beginning days and I can not thank them enough. I have bought and traded with them both over the years (4 now) and feel all my dealings were very fair. Those were me first two contacts and I now have many more.

Don't get into any hobby to just make money. That is a job and most jobs are not fun, they are jobs.

Enjoy what ever you move into first then think about a possible profit.
