I will be leaving on Friday morning June 6, 2014 for my Annual Cross Country Trip to the Convention. This is the 14th year in a row that I have made this epic journey, since I retired in 2001. Kinda short trip this year only 24 nights on the road - no US Open Golf on the Left Coast the week before the Convention and besides Tiger's not playing anyway .
Always a big time Adventure - you never know what you might find (lots of neat old chips I hope !!!!!) or what you might encounter along the way, however no more encounters with large trucks would be really nice !!.
My scheduled route is attached and I will stopping to see many friends and fellow chippers along the way. I hope gas prices fall a little in the next few weeks, but with the cost of airfare and rental cars - driving all the way from Delaware isn't that bad. Plus you get to see and do a lot more than you can flying at 30,000 ft.
I will probably visit somewhere between 150 and 200+ casinos - depending on how tired I get. I always end up with a nice bunch of Slot Cards for my personal collection and maybe even a few Roulettes and other assorted memorabilia.
See you all in Vegas in about 2 1/2 weeks.
Take care,
Jerry "On the Road Again' Birl
