There are people that have much more information than most do...new finds, hoards, counterfeits, etc... The price guides are only a guide to probable value. Lower & mid-range value chips sell for sometimes less than half of the values noted in the guides. Then again, many of the high-end chips sell for MORE than the high end of the stated "value". Your best bet is to ask before buying.
