Finding categories of chips on The Chip Guide

It isn't explained on The Chip Guide site, but you can find categories of chips that have been submitted by users using the Query function. Under features on the main page, click "ChipGuide Query Facility". You'll get a page with boxes to fill in that determine which chips you'll see.

The screen capture above shows just selecting "Dealer School" from the Casino Type drop-down menu. You can also select the format to present the results in. I show 8 across and 200 per page which is the most individual chips you can show on a page. Click on the green "Query" box, and you will see the result.

You can narrow the query by filling in other boxes in the query page. Select "Nevada" from the drop-down menu in the State box, and you will see only Dealer School chips that were submitted for Nevada.

Charles explained how to use Query at a seminar at the 2013 Convention.

Notice that the Query is different from the Search. There is a "Casino Search" and a "Chip Search" facility. Each of these will return a chip or a series of casino names that match your search criteria.

Chip Search only looks for the ChipGuide catalog number.

Casino Search allows you to enter a key word or words and returns all the matches in the database for casino names that contain your search terms. Be sure to read the "Search Tips" on this search page if you are going to enter more than one key word. Sometimes, a plus sign (+) is needed for this queer search to work properly.
