Hi Steve, thanks for the response...
I have a lot to say about the club but I'll keep it to membership here because I think it is critical.
I want to be informed about our membership in this meeting (up or down) but....
I also want to know what the club's plan is for getting new members and retaining current members. How is the plan being shared with our troops. How can I share it.
What did we do in the previous year that was really successful? What were our failures with membership outreach.
What new ideas are we working on and how do we get started.
I think that the Membership Officer should head the Membership Committee. A group with an agenda and accountability at the end of
the year.
I think communication is key for retaining members. Personally, I would like to get emails from the club's Membership
Officer on a quarterly basis. The emails need to energize members by explaining what new initiatives membership is doing and bragging about
the success stories it is seeing. Also, telling me what steps I can take in order to join the initiative. I need to know from membership
(WHAT I CAN DO), & what tools the club has for me to use.
I think we need a full club email list and communicate with members regularly. Why not? It is ((Free)).
For example... Do you think if we had convention email reminders, with clickable links to make reservations, buy banquet tickets or tournament tickets ext. Would it would help sales.... YES! Could they be forwarded....
We don't have the luxury to have our Business Meetings function like a normal BOD meeting "where you don't ask a question that you don't already know the answer to". We need to get Business started and reported at these meetings.
btw, when I say a "normal BOD" I not referring to how we are structured.
