Re: The bidding game
In Response To: The bidding game ()

Same here, Jim.

I currently have over 530 items listed in my store and they are all B-I-N. Over the years, I have actually gravitated towards the "Reverse" reserve. in that I sell numerous higher dollar coins (I consider above $250, for eBay) and set the B-I-N price higher than I would expect to sell the item and allow best offers that return the final selling price to what I expect to ultimately sell it for. I got tired of so many unsolicited "offers " to lowball my B-I-N items below reasonable prices, i had to move toward making all items a Best-offer sale with higher starting prices. As for the inexpensive stuff, I just list and see where they go.

The process of learning how everyone views making transactions differently is fascinating. While many are looking for bargains, others seem to get the most pleasure from the negotiation process and the thrill of hunting for a good deal. I have gone back and forth a dozen times on an item until we reached that "happy medium". Either way, it has been a great learning process, I have met a number of great collectors and I have learned much just from having conversations about said items.
