In most cases any dies used to produce a printed or stamped product such as chips, tokens, dice, etc. belong to the customer. Use of these dies to produce items for sale without permission could very well be illegal. It is rare that the manufacturer owns the dies, proofs, or even the original artwork connected with the item. The customer pays for the artwork and the dies and the manufacturer can not reuse these for their own use. Even if the stampings on the dice is just a name, there could be a trademark infringement issue.
The club owns all the dies used to manufacturer our convention tokens and these have been returned to the club over the years from the mint. They will make a nice display in the museum. The club also retains ownership of any artwork designed for the convention chips and hopefully these items are also in MOGH possession.
