In October, I bought a set of chips at an antique store. They are on the elephant and crown mold and are hot stamped with initials, GS. Gene Trimble suggested I contact Marion & Co., who hot stamped and distributed the chips (I believe ASM made the chips themselves). I found their website (they are still in business) and e-mailed my request for information about the chips. The owner responded, telling me they were from a New York area underground club. I found the chips with some other chips. I could identify three of the chips and all were from known Long Island underground clubs. In fact, I had played with two of the chip types and visited the source of the third. So, there is reason to believe these were probably from a club on Long Island. Despite several requests for limited information about the underground club, the owner of Marion never responded again to any of my e-mails. So, I have these chips, but no real attribution. I will sell sets of all three chips for $12, plus $2.25 shipping (domestic). If interested, you can e-mail me or respond here. If you are not in the US, please e-mail me to discuss shipping outside of the US.
This is probably not the set you will get, but they are all basically the same. I will check them to make sure you do not get any noticeable flaws on them. The chips are all in very good to perfect condition. The white chips have obviously had much more play than the black or red and are generally dirty. I am not going to try to clean them, but you are free to try, keeping in mind that they are hot stamped and you must be very careful to preserve the hot stamp.
The chips are the same on both sides. If you have any questions, you may e-mail me or ask here.
Thanks.
