If we get to sail Saturday due to the oil spill blocking the Galveston Bay area, I will make time to visit Princess Casino in Belize. We were supposed to sail on the Caribbean Princess from the new Bayport Terminal located up the Houston Ship Channel, but cruise that was due to sail this past Saturday is still stuck along side the pier. From the looks of things, chances our cruise will be cancelled because I don't believe the massive oil spill that has pretty much closed all of Galveston Bay -- the exit point to the Gulf Of Mexico -- will be cleaned up for some time. In the next couple of days, this will be a bigger story as the true economic impact of the barge-ship collision will be known. Bad luck for the nesting shorebirds that are already inundated with oil, very fertile oyster beds lie in the oil's path, and the shrimping season is upon us. Three cruise ships are stuck in port - Carnival Magic, RCI Navigator Of The Seas and Caribbean Princess -- all three huge vessels with almost 4,000 (passengers and crew) on board.
