From my recent travels to the Caribbean over the last 10 years, I was aware of Belize having a casino near it's town center called Princess Casinos, and I have been there before. It's a little seedy getting there if you walk, but a taxi ride works, and very inexpensive. I am not sure they have anything new -- last time I did get a new snapper, but the chips do not have a casino name that identifies them with Belize -- just Princess Casinos logo, and the chips are similar to ones used in other properties throughout the Caribbean.
My question: is there a Captain Morgan's Resort Casino -- located near the barrier reef and on the island of San Pedro? I did a Google search and found the listing as part of an exclusive resort. By my best calculations, to get there from Belize City, it's a one hour and 30 minutes ferry ride, and an estimated three mile taxi ride. Depending on our cruise ship's arrival time in Belize, and tender time since there are no cruise piers, it might be a do-able adventure, but depends on how reliable the ferry system is before we can venture a trip that far. I was wondering if anyone has been to this casino, or has anyone seen their chips. The internet says they offer table games and a daily poker tournament. Here's the link : http://captainmorgans.com/vegas-style-casino/
Do any chip collectors have any items from that casino they would like to share? I don't seem to find the listing in the Chip Guide.
Any help will be appreciated. There are a lot of factors to consider -- time being the biggest one, but the resort sounds like a very nice vacation spot.
