Re: When the bubble burst
In Response To: When the bubble burst ()

Appreciate your insights. Im in my 20s so I guess that puts me in the minority. I started my understanding in collectibles when I was buying sports cards in my teens. Sports cards were a huge market that has been declining for decades now. I think the main reasons were manufacturers over producing limited serial numbered products, combined with the ease of access of the internet. Nothing is ever difficult to find even if only 10 were made. Casino chips are a bit different in that aspect so I find them more interesting. Age being one of the main things. My view is that the internet has forever changed the face of any collectibles market. Prices drop as things become easier to find and more available any time anywhere. The upside to that is items are much easier to liquidate. It also allows buyers to be more frugal on prices. Eventually things will even out over time. I see it being similiar to holding shares of stock with clearly defined values as prices become more and more exact.
