Re: A Chipboard Selling Suggestion
In Response To: A Chipboard Selling Suggestion ()

I like using e-mail because it prevents someone from editing a prior post and slipping past the "first come-first served" rule. E-mails allow a time-stamped system to make sure the first response is really the first response.

I also prefer not to have someone post a "sold" sign if I have multiples for sale, because it scares away some other potential customers. For a while I was specializing in bulk sales where I had 20 or 30 identical chips available.

Although I have not sold in more than a year, I do try to be specific in my sales postings if I have more than one available, and I also state whether I prefer to receive e-mail rather than having inquiries posted on the board.

The key to it is to be clear in the original post and to honor the process you insist upon.
