I made it out of Mexico, but had a problem. After 3 hrs. drive, train, & trolley, I walked from US parking lot to the Border (easy to walk into Mexico). got a white cab to the Caliente Casino 10 min. ride. But after 6-7 mins. the cab driver pulled over as a Police car was behind him. He got out told me stay in cab. He came back said he didn't have proper papers to drive cab, and it was a 200.00 fine, told me in Mexico it is the riders who must pay or go to jail. I told him I didn't have the money. He then went to cop and came back said ok 100.00. I knew this was a scam, so I got out of cab and walked the opposite direction, after telling both of them this was illegal, not sure they understood, not sure if I was going to jail, but knew bribes are a way of life in Mexico, so they followed me I would pay the 10.00.. They didn't follow me, I called the bluff. Caught a yellow cab and went to casino, got some chips and took a yellow cab back to Border. Then a 1 1/2 hr wait in line to walk to US. I told the Border Patrol agent about the event, she told I made 3 big mistakes, 1. I took a white cab which is a rouge cab, only yellow cabs are licensed & most honest. 2. I was a senior, going to the casino, so obviously had money. Easy Pickens for the scammers. 3. She recommended I don't go to Tijuana again, many problems for people like me, especally alone. I agreed at 76 yrs old and alone, is not a good idea. Then 3 hrs. back home long day. How I harvested a couple sets, plus a couple 25 & 5 extra chips, it was a busy Sat. during day.I went to the black jack table (you bur a betting slip, and the dlear gives you the chips, no cash at table, won a couple hands left the table with my chips, went to the Mens room and put chips in my security wallet that goes around my calf under my jeans. Walked between slots, and waited to only one door man working the x-ray machine going into casino, and left. Got a yellow cab back to border.I doubt if any other of these chips are around, as BJ games are new, and illegal, they have many casinos all over Baja California Mexico but only slots and race & sports books. The BJ table could be closed per chipper with knowledge. Also, they had dog races at the back of the casino, on old race track site. This casino is rebuilt on the old Caliente famous resort 1920-1932. If you are interested in a set of 3 chips or a 25 or 5 chip, send me a e-mail fredlamb@roadrunner.com Also, the chips say $ but are actually pesos. The casino ripped me off on the exchange rate was 12 to 1 they gave me 8 to 1. I think I was the only gringo in the casino of 50-100 Mexicans, I stuck out like a sore thumb. Also posting picture of casino, old 1960 race track betting slips, (Caliente race track started to pick 6 for horses & dogs) Old coin used at track, and slot card for casino, you must load funds on card, and cash out funds at cashier using card with ID. (I loaded the min. 5.00 on my card never cashed) only one person in casino that spoke good English,100-125 slots. E-mail me if interested in any items. Fred Lamb
