Notes describe that the word is derived from the Latin verb SUPERSEDERE, and has been influenced by the presence of other words in English spelled with CEDE... such as INTERCEDE and ACCEDE... and even though SUPERCEDE spelling is dated back to the 16th century it is still regarded as incorrect... Microsoft Word has their opinion as well. grin

I'm playing it safe and going with the big guys... grin
