Today I was looking at two ebay auctions...Same seller. The seller is offering both Jesse Beck's Riverside $1 errors. One of the auctions was the error with both sides having the obverse inlay and the the other auction was offering the same chip with both reverse inlays. Now, I know both of these errors are documented in TCR and I have no reason to doubt the validity of this seller's auctions but I did start to wonder how difficult it would be to remove the inlays from two non-error chips, swap one of each and, volia', you now have two more valuable error chips. I have dealt with counterfeit coin dealings before but I am rather ignorant as to how much and what forms of chip doctoring is out there. Anyone have any tips to share?
