Portions of the Bette Midler film Jinxed! were shot on location at the hotel in summer 1981 for the summer 1982 release of the film. Other locations used in the film were Harrah's in Reno and the Harrah's Auto Museum also in Reno.

I think these chips have as much interest as many other NCV and advertising chips that are in TCR. I't like to see them remain. There will be collectors in the future trying to find why a chip marked "Harrahs" was produced. I guess it should really be listed under Harrahs Reno/Tahoe; the story has the characters in both Lake Tahoe and Reno Harrahs.
