If I bought a chip, and down the road I decided to sell it, and made a few dollars, so be it. I would never make a promise that I would never sell what I bought, as circumstances change. I feel that I don't owe the original seller anything, as they've received my money.
This is an inanimate object, not a dog or a cat....so you don't need to worry about a "good home" for it.
As long as you receive a fair price for your item, don't stress on it, and also don't expect to get "full" book as you would never get "full" book from anyone, especially how this chip market has been, with "Finds" etc. Just look at others selling on here, and you'll see examples.
That, to me, is how collecting works. You buy, you sell, you upgrade. This is my 2 cents.
