At some point before Harrah's took over, the grinding truck was backed up to the loading dock and TONS & TONS of chips, tokens and plaques from the Aladdin, London Club and Planet Hollywood were pulverized into dust. All except for 20 cancelled sets. These were given to executives and key employees who saw the writing on the wall that they would soon be unemployed. Most received a bag of everything up through the $100,000 chip & plaque and a few got a framed set of the plaques through the million dollar.
I was consigned a bagged set back in 2009 and from a different ex-employee in 2010. In 2012 a framed set came out that I am aware of. Just last week I got the phone call that another ex-employee was feeling the pinch and wanted his bagged set sold on and asked if I'd be willing to do it. There might be others that I haven't heard about but I know for certain that at least FOUR sets have ended up in our hobby.
So, for five weeks between now and February 16th (excluding Superbowl Sunday) we will be listing all of these items that have a face value of over $366,000. Here's your chance to own one (or more!) of these seldom seen pieces of Aladdin history:
You can click the link below the $1000 plaque (up for auction THIS week!) to see the first group, knowing that there are four more groups coming.
Thanks for looking!
