I was in Tunica last week and heard that Gold Strike in Tunica is closing its poker room in about a week. There were also stories floating around that Harrahs was going to combine poker rooms with Horseshoe after the WSOP. Horseshoe just expanded their poker room doubling its size. I have no idea how they can combine rooms since the casinos are about 5 miles apart.

Once Gold Strike closes there will only be 3 poker rooms left - Hollywood, Horseshoe, Harrahs. I play at Hollywood and they seem desperate to keep players coming in. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday they offer bonuses like high hand ever hour gets $50. So far it is working but with Sams Town, Roadhouse and Isle of Capri closing their rooms you would think that they should be able to keep more than one table open.
