The NCV's I'm familiar with in Mississippi are different from the typical issues in Nevada. Theirs's are one play only, while most Nevada's you can continue to play until you lose the hand they are played on.

The practical effect is that Nevada's have an expected-value of face minus the house-win-percentage times the face value (for instance, about 98% of face if played on blackjack).

Mississippi's are worth only the face value times the payoff on a hand of the game (usually about 50% on blackjack, for instance).

The difference is significant in that Nevada's NCV's are worth about double that of the typical Mississippi NCV. There are some exceptions for some casinos in Las Vegas that offer the one-play chip, but that's only recently and mostly from Caesars Entertainment casinos, in my experience.
