It appears to me that the entry for Dec 23 was meant to occur sometime on Dec 29 or 30. That would fit with the normal pattern of package tracking. Also, when I lived in a "rural" area with contract mail delivery, packages were always scanned as delivered at 6 in the morning when they were loading up the cars (not USPS trucks, as the mail was delivered by contract workers out of their cars). When a package goes missing, you have no recourse, as it was "delivered". Not so sure what the point of delivery confirmation is in that case.
