Today’s note was sent to me from my friend Jim Follis in Tucson Arizona. This note is new to me and I have gleaned the following information and opinion from their website. It is much like an ATM Test note. Western Money Systems is a private company that is working with the casino industry in Las Vegas Nevada. They are building ATM type kiosks that will do a number of functions that will relieve the workload of casino floor employees and cage workers. What the machine does is to breaks large bills such as $100’s into five $20’s and a $20 into four $5’s. It also recognizes TITO’s (Ticket-In-Ticket-Out) from slot machines. Many slot machines have gone from the cumbersome metal tokes to simply printing a ticket that is redeemable at the cage or can be used in another slot machine. The Western Money Systems Kiosk will recognize the slot machine ticket and make the payout. Fraud is reduced because the kiosk and the slot machine verify the ticket serial number and payout via Ethernet connections. This is also useful in determining how much money is taken in and paid out from an individual machine or groups of machines, helping the casino determine which machines are being played most and with what results.
