According to the 4th Edition, Campiglia/Wells price guide, the Rarity Value assigned to this chip is "R-5*" wherein the "R-5" represents "Very Scarce" with 76 - 150 known and very important to this auction is that the asterisk means that the "... chips are only known in drilled, notched, cancelled, or damaged condition...".
While this chip certainly represented the more extreme definition of damaged, and while the guide is dated, if you are a collector of Harold's Club issues, or Reno issues, or Nevada, or HCE molded chips and you do not have this particular chip, this would be a good opportunity to get an example at far less than the Campiglia/Wells "30% Rule". This Rule places a value of 30% of full value on a chip that is drilled, notched, cancelled or damaged.
At the current bid of $9.99, this damaged chip will be sold for far less than the 30% Rule when using the C/W guide or TCR.
