BRAZIL Mother-of-Pearls

I've only had a few of these chips and plaques that were a gift, and the balance of the set is in private hands which made their way up to Florida many years ago.

Though I've broadcast images of the set in a few publications here and in the UK, since 1992, I have not yet received any positive identification.

The largest denomination is in the shape of a gold ingot and it's "Rs5:000$" with "Club" (not Clube) on reverse, which kind of suggests to me it was a club catering to foreign Nationals.

We've been very fortunate to have explained to us, here; the past history of legal gambling in Brazil... but these pieces still remain unattributed...

Though I've seen several M-O-P gaming pieces from Brazil, none suggested anything other than personal -- while these seemingly are club related.

Does anyone here have any idea as to where these were in use...?
