Here is a picture of Bob Hope and Chief of Security at the Desert Inn Don Borax probably taken in 1953. Don Borax was a western movie star who became Chief of Police in Las Vegas....In 1949 The Desert Inn hired him as Chief of Security and he stayed with them for 20 years. Note the old hand made felt "Deputy" patch on his uniform.
