...... the gym after lunch when they made the announcement of Kennedy's death on the p a system. I was very shocked and sadden but I remember a couple of kids were actually applauding and laughing. We tend to forget that many people in the country at that time had strong anti-Kennedy sentiments because of his religion, civil rights policies, etc.
It is a day I will never forget.
