About 20+ years ago I discovered that OSCO drug here in the Midwest had casino playing cards in their toy section - bought quite a few decks of these and discovered that the earlier decks the gold ink was kind of flaked and came off the cards, later versions they used a different ink. The ones you have look like the ones that flaked. Not a bad thing - the flakey ink ones look nicer of the two styles.
