Interesting question and not as easy to answer as I thought it would be... wiki.answers says around 475 casinos... while an article in wikipedia references 1500 casinos, which I assume includes legal cardrooms. Anyone have a more exact count?

Dick, based on this Wiki (and it's a pretty good list), it's around 932. However, I know there are 94 in Oklahoma alone (this wiki states 57).

I would guess over 2500+ if you consider what a "casino" is in South Dakota or Oklahoma or if you count places in Nevada that just have slot machines only. And then add Charity Casino in North Dakota.

It's really amazing how many "casinos" there are in the United States.
