Strange as it sounds, there are collectors of the slabs irrespective of what is in them. This is a rare slab as the ones handed out at the Convention are about the only ones that exist. These collectors try for all the variations in style of the plastic mold, lettering, way the coin (or chip) is retained, etc.

The coin store selling this can't really subscribe to the "Slab Free" pledge as he didn't get the chip slabbed.
