This was a local coin shop find. At first blush I thought I had a great find and in my rush I did NOT take a close look.
After getting home, I then noticed that, while stapled into a mylar and paper flip, it did not lay flat. I assumed it was warped and went to place it in my "warped chips" rack.
However, once I pulled it out of the flip, one of the inlays popped off. I could tell that it had been re-glued/repaired, but the new glue could not hold the inlay one and, in matching the glue spots, the cross-hatching did not line up. However, the other side had cross-hatching alignment and while there was a slight lift at one point of the inlay, it appeared to be OK. However, in poking at the inlay, it popped off and I could tell that it too had been re-glued at some point. *sda*
I cleaned up the new glue, which seemed like white glue and then noticed that the chip was not warped. Without the excess glue and inlays in-place, the chip was flat.
So, for whatever reason, both of the inlays failed to stay in-place on the chip. Anyone have a suggestion as to why both inlays came off and the chip otherwise looks great? No cracks, no warpage and with such shiney hats, there was plenty of pressure.
According to TCR # 15, this was a "V" valued chip!

Thanks for looking!

(Both sides of everything is shown, however, the glue side of the inlays should have been swapped around to match the side of the chip they were glued to.)
