Actually, his name is Sam Cooper (from New Jersey) and he runs an open mike every Saturday afternoon in White's Creek, Tennessee ... about 15 minutes outside of Nashville. While Sam does not play any Grateful Dead music (he could make a good living impersonating Garcia), his free shows are very entertaining. Place is called Richard's something or other.
