A guess is early/mid 1960's. Reasoning as follows:
Monarch Match Co. of San Jose was operating 1946 to 1966 (per a website reference).
Gardena Club / New Gardena Club open 1960 to 1979, per Chip Guide.
So the match company and the NGClub overlapped for 6 years -- 1960 to 1966.

The Club was first named simply The Gardena Club, before becoming The New Gardena Club later, so matches were probably in the 1963 range or so, as an estimate.

One further bit of info: The 2-letter States code (CA for California) didn't start until 1963, but it took a while for some businesses to switch from Calif. to CA. So this doesn't help narrow the range much.

Neat looking matchbook. I played poker there, but not until the 1978-79 time period.
