They are green sea turtles, "honu" in Hawaiian.

People used to eat them when I was growing up in Hawaii. (probably in Florida too )
The honu population dwindled down and they were placed on the endangered species list.
Lately they have been enjoying a comeback.

This is a honu elongated coin from Maui Ocean Center in Maalaea, Maui near Kihei.
