While searching for something totally unrelated, I found a magazine from December of 1960. It has the following blurb:
"William Harrah, operator of clubs in Reno and Lake Tahoe, announced he had obtained an option to buy the Tahoe Plaza at Stateline. The club, a new venture near the California-Nevada line, has a sale price of more than $1 million, including the 2.5 acre site and the casino and restaurant facilities. Harrah did not disclose his plans for the Tahoe Plaza which is on the east side of Highway 50 and adjacent to the parking lot at Harrah's big casino. A spokesman for the Plaza said the agreement contained a provision that the option would not be exercised until the close of the summer season next year. State gaming officials at Carson City said they had not yet received an application regarding the change."
hmmmmm......."the club, a new venture..."??
And... "the option would not be exercised until the close of the summer season next year."
