Air Force troops were bused from Lackland AFB, San Antonio to Camp Bullis -- southern SA area for live-fire drills and small arms training. The Army used the red flag to fly over the range on a tall pole to warn everyone that live fire was in progress. Remember, the Army way was different that later USAF practices. I shot 59 out of 60 with the M-16 to earn my ribbon, 35 out of 40 with the pistol, and just hit the target with the M-12. Thanks for the memories.
