Surprisingly enough, I FINALLY got a call from them this week. I had given up hope I'd ever hear back. But apparently, complaining about your local casino in a survey they send you will get their attention.
I was on the phone with the Administration Office Manager AND the top man in charge of security at Cactus Petes. I began the conversation by saying I had learned what I had done was illegal in Nevada, where I hadn't when this happened. Then I calmly explained everything that happened (fortunately, I had written down everything that happened on the drive home when my recollection of what happened was very fresh in my mind). The two of them APOLOGIZED for what happened!! They agreed that what happened was a bit much. And on Saturday, I received a pair of free buffet passes for the next time we come down, and I was asked to please come see who I was on the phone with.
I'm happy. By the end of the phone call, I was just happy to have somebody with the word MANAGER in their title listen to what I had to say, then agree with me. The buffet passes are icing on the cake at this point.
So anyway, I hope I'm not persona non grata next time we go to Jackpot. I have some free food to eat at their buffet (Cactus Petes does have a very good buffet - nothing that can hold a candle to what you see at, say, The Mirage, but for Jackpot, I think their Saturday night buffet is $16.99, so I'll get to put that in a slot machine and not into food at least.
However, if I get stopped at the border by Jackpot city police and told to make a U-Turn....
