The dealer has 2 ivories that I did not find coded. I checked with two ivory collectors & both said the chips are fake and believed the work of a guy in Georgia (not the dealer) who for years has been taking old blank ivories or has removed the designs and then engraves new numbers or designs. Originally, he put them on eBay w/o noting that they were re-designs. Now he (not the dealer) has some which he labels as created chips. I was told by my collector friends that the seller has a collection of good ivories and that he may have bought these from the Georgia guy...but whatever is the story, the chip sale cited and a second one are "new" creations.
