Did you acquire those as lone pairs, or in a bulk quantity? The reason I ask is because.....
Back in 2002 (or there abouts) I wrote an article for the Magazine, entitled: "A Tale of Two Closings" (or something like that). At the time, both the Sports World Casino, Las Vegas (formerly: CBS Sports World Casino) and the Regency Casino, Laughlin were closing. The Sports World Casino was having an auction that included darn near everything, except for chips and the Regency was closed, except for the presence of the then owner, who was making good on the redemption notice and was working the cage.
The article I wrote was a juxtaposition of the two closures and for the Regency, I spent a few hours with the owner (Larry (I forgot his last name)) getting atour of the closed property and getting an interview. As noted in the article, part of the tour was a backroom where he showed me boxes of roulette chips (all generic) from a short-lived roulette table and boxes of dice, all still foil-wrapped. I asked him what he was planning to do with the chips, dice and redeemed chips, and he said that he was going to pack them up and take them with him when he headed back North to the Montgomery Pass area, where he was also the owner of the Montgomery Pass Lodge (and one or more other smaller and closed casinos). (My casino ownership statement here is based on memory and not the article or my notes. But as I recall, he was the husband of the original owner's daughter of those casinos.)
In any event, all these years I have been loosely observing the collector market for Regency Casino dice and chips and your post is along that line.
So, I'm just curious.
A pre- Honk, Honk!
