Well, aside from the catfish and algae eaters...

I've learned that there are several types of fish that can be found in the desert.
You can catch goldenfish in the caves. it also helps to bring some goldenfish bait
(firefly + snakebee larva). fish with the worms a bit to get rid of some of the other
types of fish - and then use the goldenfish bait - which supposedly only attract the
goldenfish.
