rememberances!! I lived in Chicago (Near North Side) very near to that location (but some years later). The upper and lower drives were something! The general idea was trucks and express routing below and automobiles above. All the buildings along the way had loading areas below and regular street access above. I'm sure the prohibitioners took advantage of the lower reaches for their boating, trucking and warehousing activities!
