Hard Rock Hotel has just informed the government of Aruba that the finances for their project is final. They will sign the agreement with the government this week, and commence clean up and demolishment of the Bushiri hotel property soon after. The Bushiri hotel has been abandoned for over a decade, and has become an eyesore in recent years. The Hard Rock Hotel Aruba will have 310 rooms, spa, a casino, and a small marina with an artificial island off shore. The beach between the Hard Rock Hotel and Tamarijn will be upgraded, converted into a park for public use. Estimated cost is US$110 million. Opening is expected early 2015.
This quote was from another message board. I wouldn't take the opening date too seriously (island time), but it will mean more chips! Oh, and the Bushiri was an eyesore when I first saw it in 2002. Just sayin'.
